SVU Response for LEO's

The aim of this training is to provide law enforcement officers (LEO’s) with an overview of SVU investigative considerations. The goal of this training is to equip LEO’s with an investigative mindset response. This type of response can produce more fruitful interactions with all involved, better crime scene preservation and documentation, and evidence identification and collection. This type of response can increase the likelihood of the victim/survivor’s sustained involvement in the criminal justice process as well as the administration of justice being fair and impartial.

An Overview of SVU Investigations for SANE Nurses

The aim of this training is to provide forensic nurse examiners (FNE’s) with an overview of SVU investigative considerations. The goal of this training is to equip FNE’s with a better understanding of how the forensic medical examination can supplement the criminal justice process. More informed FNE’s can increase the likelihood of the victim/survivor’s sustained involvement in the criminal justice process as well as the administration of justice being fair and impartial.

Understanding & Preventing Child Abuse & Exploitation

The aim of this training is to educate all audiences on the dynamics and impact of Child Abuse & Exploitation. The goal of this training is to foster a coordinated community response to better recognize the signs and to encourage the reporting of suspected
incidents of Child Abuse & Exploitation. This training is focused on eliminating Child Abuse & Exploitation.

SVU Victims Are Not Witnesses of their Crimes

The aim of this training is to educate all audiences on the importance of refraining from treating SVU victims like they are witnesses of their crimes. The goal of this training is to provide an overview of effective SVU victim rapport building, active listening, and question type strategies. This training is focused on creating impartial and safe spaces for SVU victims through the prevention and/or lessening instances of revictimization. These neutral and unbiased environments can increase the likelihood of the victim/survivor’s
sustained involvement in the criminal justice process and ensure the administration of justice is fair and impartial.

SVU Investigative Perspective for Victim Advocates

The aim of this training is to provide victim service providers (VSP’s) with an overview of the initial response of law enforcement, investigative considerations, and the military justice process. The goal of this training is to produce better-informed VSP’s about the overall law enforcement process. More informed VSP’s can increase the likelihood of the victim/survivor’s sustained involvement in the criminal justice process as well as the administration of justice being fair and impartial.

Domestic Violence Strangulation Response for LEO's

The aim of this training is to provide law enforcement officers (LEO’s) with an overview of the applicable considerations involved in these cases. The goal of this training is to equip LEO’s with an investigative mindset response. This type of response can produce more fruitful interactions with all involved, better crime scene preservation and documentation, and evidence identification and collection. This type of response can also increase the likelihood of the victim/survivor’s sustained involvement in the criminal
justice process as well as the administration of justice being fair and impartial.

An Investigator’s Look into the Mindset of Offenders

The aim of this training is to provide an overview of the mindset of offenders and their grooming behaviors. The goal of this training is to foster a coordinated community response to better recognize the grooming behaviors of offenders and to encourage the reporting of suspected incidents of criminality and/or reasonable suspicious behavior. This training is collectively focused on the prevention of SVU victimizations and/or stopping them at their lowest level.
